Dr. Arif graduated from Aga Khan Medical University in Karachi, Pakistan, in 2008. He then did his Residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Gastroenterology at SUNY Upstate Medical University. He was Assistant Professor of Medicine at SUNY Upstate for 6 years when he was active in teaching Medical students, Residents and Fellows. He moved to Plano, TX in 2021 and started his independent private practice. Dr. Arif is a Gastroenterologist and Advanced Endoscopist affiliated with multiple hospitals in the North Dallas area, including Medical City, Texas Health and Baylor, Scott and White. He also speaks multiple languages including English, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi. Dr Arif can perform advanced endoscopic procedures including Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, ERCP, Endoscopic Ultrasound, Motility testing and GERD evaluation.
Procedure done for evaluation of the esophagus, stomach and first part of the small intestine. This may include biopsy, ablation, stent placement, foreign body removal, dilation.
Procedure done for evaluation if the colon and may include biopsy and polyp removal, stent placement, dilation.
Procedure done for evaluation of the pancreas, bile ducts, nodules of the GI tract. May include fine needle biopsy.
Procedure done for evaluation of the bile duct and pancreatic duct and may include stone removal, stent placement, lithotripsy, cholangioscopy.
Procedure done for evaluation of esophageal motility.
Evaluation of GERD (commonly known as acid reflux) including advanced testing BRAVO and ENDOFLIP.
Procedure done for evaluation of the small intestine.
